Former three-time All-Conference selection and two-time America East Champion women’s basketball alumna India Pagan ’22 represented Puerto Rico with the Senior Women’s National Team at the 2023 FIBA Women’s AmeriCup in Leon, Mexico, this past week.
Puerto Rico played four games in four days during the opening Group B Phase, with victories against Columbia, Dominican Republic, and Mexico to ultimately finish pool play 3-1 that pushed the squad to the quarterfinals. After Puerto Rico defeated Mexico again to move into the semifinal, the team would ultimately fall to Brazil in the semifinals and Canada in the third-place game to finish the tournament in fourth-place.
