Two SBU Professors Write Op-Ed on Interdisciplinary Research

Meg Schedel

Margaret Schedel

Stony Brook Music Professor Margaret Schedel and Ecology Professor Heather Lynch are collaborating on a joint study of interdisciplinary research and recently co-authored an op-ed on the subject, Interdisciplinary Research Collaborations Are Hard, for Inside Higher Ed.
To avoid common problems, Schedel and Lynch recommend three questions you should always ask when developing your academic prenup:

  1. What does success look like?
  2. How will we communicate and delegate?
  3. What if one of us has to step away from the project?

Read the Inside Higher Ed op for more details.
