Swimming & Diving Team Earns CSCAA Scholar All-America Status

The Stony Brook University swimming and diving team has earned Scholar All-America status for the Fall 2023 semester, as announced by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association.

The Seawolves’ swimming and diving program exemplified excellent academic performance throughout the Fall 2023 semester. The team obtained a 3.31 team GPA, meeting the required 3.30 team GPA for the honor.

“I am very happy with how our team did in the classroom this semester,” said head coach Mark Anderson. “We aim to be great in the pool, but academic success is the most important. Being able to balance athletics and academics at this level is setting our women up to be successful down the road, and that’s always exciting to watch!”

Individually, 14 swimming and diving student-athletes made the Coastal Athletic Association’s Commissioner’s Honor Roll in the fall, which requires a 3.0 GPA. Six student-athletes earned the High Honors designation from the league, qualifying with a minimum 3.7 GPA for the Fall 2023 semester, as announced earlier this month.

A total of 783 teams across 461 NCAA and NAIA institutions were honored on the Scholar All-America Team for Fall 2023.

In the pool, Stony Brook is preparing for the CAA Championships, which will be held February 28 through March 2 in Hampton, VA.
