Stony Brook Children’s Hospital has been named a finalist for a Long Island Imagine Award in the Social Impact category, highlighting its work to provide world-class medical care to underserved communities.
The Long Island Imagine Awards, now in its 13th year, was founded by Ken Cerini, CPA, Cerini & Associates LLP as a way to showcase the nonprofit sector and all the good work that it does, as well as provide opportunities for deeper collaboration within the sector. The gala event, scheduled for Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, New York, provides unlimited networking and connection opportunities for the corporate and nonprofit sectors while highlighting the exceptional work of the finalist organizations. The 24 finalists, four in each category, receive a professionally produced video that is showcased the night of the event and two free tickets to attend. In addition, each finalist will receive $1,000 courtesy of Diamond Sponsor SterlingRisk Insurance and one in each category will be announced LIVE at the event. As part of the Imagine Awards, all of the finalists are eligible for the Imagine Fan Favorite Award, sponsored by Nerds That Care, which allows people to support their favorite finalist. The finalist with the most votes by midnight on March 31 will also be honored at the Imagine Awards.
Stony Brook Children’s Hospital is the only children’s hospital in Suffolk County, a resource for the 320,000 children under the age of 18. With a team of 180 highly trained pediatric physicians across 30 specialties and state-of-the-art facilities, Stony Brook Children’s Hospital ensures a child-friendly environment that supports both patients and their families. It is part of Stony Brook Medicine, which integrates all of Stony Brook University’s health-related initiatives – education, research and patient care.
The Children’s Hospital offers programs to support critical needs, such as the Early Childhood Clinic that provides early diagnosis for children with autism and other developmental challenges. The Duchenne Care Center, the only one on Long Island, is giving children with complex conditions a better future. Additionally, the Children’s Hospital brings its Injury Prevention and Education Program to schools and community events – teaching children how to stay safe doing activities they love and making sure they understand the importance of car safety.
