In a resounding affirmation of how Stony Brook University is empowering its students to author successful careers and lives, the University has recorded its highest-ever ranking on Forbes magazine’s list of “America’s Best Value Colleges.” Stony Brook is No. 29 on the 2019 list, and No. 13 among public universities.
The new ranking continues a meteoric rise for Stony Brook, which entered the Forbes “Best Value” list in 2016 at No. 82, and jumped to No. 41 in 2018. The University has also climbed 16 places among public universities since 2016, and was the top SUNY campus on the list.
Forbes formulates its rankings based on the magazine’s own “Top Colleges” ranking from 2018 (20%), average student debt (20%), midcareer alumni earnings (20%), net price of attendance (20%), timely graduation rate (10%) and population of Pell Grant recipients (10%).
