Stony Brook Southampton will host its annual tradition, the Windmill Lighting and Holiday Gathering, on Thursday, December 5, from 6 pm to 8 pm. The public is invited to enjoy holiday cheer and celebrate the spirit of the season.

This year’s program, which is free and open to the public, will feature the iconic windmill lighting, followed by a reception at the Stony Brook Southampton Library with seasonal refreshments.
The family-friendly festivities will also include a photobooth sponsored by the Alumni Association, a crafts table for children, face painting, an appearance by Wolfie, and musical performances by members of the Stony Brook University orchestra.
The windmill, a cherished landmark and historical icon, has stood at its current campus site on Shinnecock Hills since 1888.
