The Class of 1983 Endowed Scholarship Honoring Dr. Aldustus Jordan and Dr. Jack Stern was awarded to David Fell ’18 during an inaugural award presentation late Summer 2016.

“It’s no surprise that David Fell was selected by our class to receive the scholarship from the class of 1983, just as it was no surprise that he was elected to be our class president within just weeks of having met everyone,” said Sowmya Sanapala ’18, student representative for the School of Medicine Alumni Board. “We’re lucky to have him as a peer.”

Future awardees must have completed the basic sciences portion of the School of Medicine’s training, be entering their clinical years and contributed to the well-being of class members. This person can represent a classic leader, one who aids and comforts those who are struggling or one who ties the class together. They can also simply be a person who lends notes, leads discussions or enjoys adding humor to the day. Fell’s classmates felt he embodied all of these qualities.
