Seawolves celebrate with five days of fun

Wolfstock — Stony Brook University’s annual Homecoming celebration — will feature five days of events, highlighted by the football game between the Seawolves and the University of New Hampshire at 3:30 pm on Saturday, October 21.

Alumni, students, faculty, staff and everyone in the Stony Brook University community are invited to take part in this annual celebration of all things Seawolves.

Wednesday, October 18

Fire and Safety Expo
10 am – 3 pm, Student Activities Center
The expo will feature safety vendors, demonstrations and giveaways, along with live cooking demos at 12 pm, 1 pm and 2 pm from SBU Eats.

Homecoming Harvest
12:30 pm, SAC Academic Mall
Join this Homecoming kickoff event featuring the Harvest Market, a pumpkin carving demo, teaching kitchen, the smoothie bike, pies and other great foods that celebrate autumn. Dining dollars accepted.

Thursday, October 19

Jurors Concert – Lilian and Maurice Barbash J.S. Bach String Competition
3 pm, SAC – Staller Center Recital Hall
A Bach family extravaganza concert featuring music of J.S. Bach and his sons. String players on both Baroque and modern instruments will include Ani Kavafian, Cynthia Roberts and Daniel Stepner on violins, as well as Stony Brook’s own Colin Carr on cello, and Arthur Haas on harpsichord. Admission is free.

Home-Sweet-Homecoming
5:30 – 7:30 pm, East Side Dining Patio
A fall themed SWEET event with SB DJs, lawn games, Wolfie, electric fireplaces, giveaway blankets, inflatable chairs and snacks. Special appearance by Coach P and some of our star players.

Homecoming Court Royalty Competition
7:30 – 9:30 pm, SAC Sidney Gelber Auditorium
Support your 2023 Homecoming Court as they take their Stony Brook spirit to the stage. Be there to cast your vote!

Friday, October 20

GSO Seawolf Social
5 – 7 pm, Hilton Garden Inn
An evening dedicated to all things fun, fun and spirit. Enjoy delectable bites to satisfy your taste buds, and exclusive Stony Brook swag to make you feel like a true Seawolf.  RSVP on SBEngaged

Second Annual Soberfest
5 – 7 pm, Rec and Wellness Center Patio
Hosted by the Center for Prevention and Outreach (CPO), this year will be a neon party to bring the homecoming spirit! Explore creative and fun ways to cope and stay safe during homecoming. Games, crafts, activities and free mocktails will be provided.

Class of 2013 10-Year Reunion Social
6 – 8 pm, Stony Brook Union Ballroom
Kick off your 10-year reunion with a fun and festive reunion. Reunion social includes a variety of appetizers and beer and wine.

Seawolves Showcase
7:30 – 11 pm, Island Federal Arena
Get ready for the 13th Annual Seawolves Showcase! Marching Band, Cheer, Dance, Football and handpicked performance groups will perform to dazzle everyone.

Saturday, October 21

BLA UNITI Multicultural Brunch
10 am – 12:30 pm, SAC Ballroom A
Hosted by the Black and Latino Alumni (BLA) Network. Reunite with old friends and others from student organizations like CSO, HSO, LASO, fraternities and sororities. The brunch celebrates culture through speakers, music, food and beverages.

Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2022 Induction Ceremony
10:30 am – 12:30 pm, Island Federal Arena
The Stony Brook University Athletics Hall of Fame will open its doors to the Class of 2023: Dr. Leah Fiorentino (Holland) ’76 (Swimming & Diving), Brock Jackolski ’12 (Football), Nini Lagvilava ’13 (Women’s Tennis), Courtney Lawless (Murphy) ’17, ’18 (Women’s Lacrosse), Kylie Ohlmiller ’18 (Women’s Lacrosse), Carson Puriefoy ’16 (Men’s Basketball) and Steve Waldeck ’10 (Men’s Lacrosse).

Student Tailgate
11 am – 3:30 pm, LaValle Stadium parking lot
No registration is needed, but a valid SBU student ID is required to park in the designated area of the lot. The tailgate will feature WUSB’s “The Bash” student music festival.

Homecoming Wolfstock Village BBQ
12:30 – 3:30 pm, LaValle Stadium parking lot
Festivities for all ages! The ultimate pre-game experience includes unlimited BBQ favorites, food trucks, photo booths, face painting, games and more. Admission is free for everyone for the rides and games. Admission to the BBQ only is $25 for adults, $20 for students and recent grads, $10 for children. Register here.

Athletics Alumni Tailgate
2 – 8 pm, Downey Family Football Tent, Gate 6, LaValle Stadium
The tent opens 90 minutes prior to kick-off. Guests can stay in the tent throughout the game and enjoy food, beer, wine and soft drinks. Register here.

Homecoming Football Game
3:30 pm, LaValle Stadium
Watch the Seawolves take on the University of New Hampshire Wildcats. Get tickets.

UNITI Alumni Event Dance Party
7 pm, SAC Ballrooms A and B
Get into the groove of R&B, Dance, House and Hip Hop sounds from the 1980s to today’s hits. This post-game social event includes DJ, dancing, food, beverages (cash bar) and networking, and is open to all alums. 

Sunday, October 22

The Wolfie Dash 5K Run
9 – 11:30 am, Starts at the Rec and Wellness Center
Join family, friends, alumni and students for the first annual Wolfie Dash, a 5K foot race through Stony Brook University’s beautiful campus. Sponsored by the Office of the President, the Stony Brook Alumni Association and Healthier U. Learn more and register.
