In front of a record crowd in newly expanded Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium, the Stony Brook football team upended 12-ranked and CAA Football rival New Hampshire 38-24 on Homecoming Saturday night.

12,311 cheering Seawolves fans witnessed the Seawolves (5-2, 4-1 CAA Football) shut out the Wildcats (4-2, 2-1 CAA Football) in the second half, while posting 22 points of their own to overcome an eight-point halftime deficit.

Junior RB Donald Liotine (Medford, N.Y.) scored a pair of rushing touchdowns, while senior RB Stacey Bedell (Mastic Beach, N.Y.) tallied 157 yards on the ground, including a 63-yard touchdown run.

Stony Brook’s defense, that forced three turnovers and held UNH to negative 10 rushing yards, was led by DB Gavin Heslop (Yonkers, N.Y.) with a career-best nine tackles, including his first career sack and forced fumble.
