Assawakulpa received a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant Award to Taiwan, where she looks forward to observing the culture. She hopes to immerse herself into the culture of her students and engage with the Taiwanese community by creating a music appreciation group to participate in a cultural exchange through the medium of music.
She is the Color Guard captain of the Spirit of Stony Brook Marching Band, president of the Baan Thai Club and previously acted as a University Fellow.
