Peter enrolled at Stony Brook University in the fall of 1968 on a Regents Scholarship. While doing his undergraduate studies Peter also wrote for the student newspaper and maintained a part-time job at the Student Union’s Main Desk. In 1972 he earned a B.A. in English Literature with a minor in Secondary Education and went on to earn his Masters in English Literature in 1974.

After leaving Stony Brook, Peter began his teaching career at Longwood High School in Middle Island, NY. He taught for 5 years as a tenured educator, largely teaching 10th and 11th grade English Classes.

In 1980, Peter changed careers and joined the investment banking firm of Drexel Burnham Lambert, Incorporated. He worked in various data-processing and front-office roles ultimatelynbecoming a Corporate Vice President in Fixed Income Trading Administration. Outside of work, Peter found time to earn his MBA at NYU.

Ten years later he moved to Citigroup working in various divisions of the firm?s Corporate and Investment Bank. After several years as the Head of Global Technology for the Equity Finance and Prime Broker businesses Peter finally retired in May 2006.

Peter has worked with Stony Brook University in numerous ways. He currently sits on the Advisory Board for WISE, Women in Science and Engineering. He also serves on the Dean?s Council for the College of Engineering and on President Kenny?s Alumni Advisory group.

Most notably, during his years at Citigroup, Peter initiated a number of hiring programs and funding grants that created a strong and growing relationship between Citigroup and the University. He has introduced over 100 Stony Brook students to entry level positions in the firms technology division and also worked to establish 9 Citigroup-WISE scholarships.

Peter currently lives in Manhattan with his wife Florence, and daughter, Molly.
