Wolfstock is October 19-21, and as we welcome back this beloved Homecoming tradition, we’re more excited than ever for alumni and friends to reconnect! With a full weekend of festivities to choose from, everyone’s homecoming will look a little different — with each experience just as fun as the next.
So, why should you attend Homecoming weekend? Besides all of the fun things we have planned, we figured you’d want to hear straight from some alumni who attended last year and the reasons they think you should attend.
Reconnecting with Friends
Let’s face it. After graduation, we say we’ll stay in touch, but life gets in the way. We make plans, and often they fall through. But homecoming is a time to reconnect with friends in the best way possible — right where we met!
The Football Game
Seawolves fans love getting into the school spirit by watching the big game with their family and classmates. From the Spirit of Stony Brook Marching Band to Stony Brook athletes giving it their all to win, there’s something special about sharing that experience with loved ones. And it’s even better to celebrate that win!
Reliving Great Memories
One of the best parts of homecoming is reliving memorable moments on campus. A walk through our beautiful campus to see what’s still there and what’s changed can spark some of your favorite memories from your time at Stony Brook. And it’s even better if you can share them with your family and friends! Plus, explore meaningful landmarks with our Guide to Art on Campus.

Making New Friends
No matter how many times you’ve been back to Stony Brook for Homecoming, you’re bound to make new friends and connections. Maybe it’s an SBU student who is just starting their college journey. Or a grad student getting ready for the world. Or even the family members of old friends you’ll be meeting for the first time!
Still trying to figure out how to navigate Homecoming weekend? Here are a few tips from alumni like you:
Keep an Open Mind
Whether you’re attending for the first time or the twentieth, every homecoming experience is different and exciting. So, come with an open mind to rediscover what it means to be a Seawolf!
Attend an Organization Event
If you were a member of an organization at Stony Brook, consider attending one of their events. Many organizations, from the Statesman to BLA, are hosting specific and fun mixers for you to connect with your fellow alumni and faculty members.

Bring the Whole Family
Homecoming is more than just catching up with old friends. It’s also a time to reminisce about your favorite college memories with your family and make new ones. From a giant slide and games to food trucks and music, there will be plenty to choose from for all ages. You’ll want to do it all — and come back next year!
Have Fun
Homecoming is a time for us to reflect on all that Stony Brook has done for our Seawolves and the extraordinary things that the future holds. We can’t wait to welcome you to Stony Brook again. So, just come, enjoy yourself, re-immerse yourself in campus life, and have a great time!
