Navigating Wolfstock: A Guide for Alumni and Friends

Can you believe it? Wolfstock is right around the corner, and as we welcome back this beloved Homecoming tradition, we couldn’t be more excited to have our alumni and friends back on campus to reconnect! From October 15 to October 18, there is a full weekend of festivities to choose from, and while everyone’s Homecoming will look a little different — each experience is just as fun as the next. 

So, why should you attend Wolfstock? 

Reconnecting With Friends
Let’s face it. After graduation, we say we’ll stay in touch, but life gets in the way. We make plans, and often they fall through. But Homecoming is a time to reconnect with friends in the best way possible — right where you met! 

The Football Game
Seawolves fans love getting into the school spirit by watching the big game with their family and classmates. From the Wolfstock Village BBQ to the exciting action on the field as the Seawolves take on SUNY rival UAlbany and the Spirit of Stony Brook halftime show, there’s something special about sharing that experience with loved ones. And it’s even better to celebrate with a Homecoming win!

Reliving Great Memories
One of the best parts of Homecoming is reliving moments on campus. A walk through our beautiful campus to see what’s still there and what’s changed can spark some of your favorite memories from your time at Stony Brook. And it’s even better if you can share them with your family and friends! Plus, you can explore meaningful landmarks like the Zebra Path and Staller Steps and capture selfies at new campus favorites like the Wolfie statue on the Academic Mall or the SBU letters outside the Student Union.

The Reunion
Let’s not forget our Reunion 2026! This year we’re celebrating all alumni reaching milestone reunions, including:

• Class of 2016 (10 years)
• Class of 2001 (25 years)
• Class of 1976 (50 years)
• Members of our Brook Heritage Society (alumni who graduated more than 50 years ago)

This celebration starts at 9 am on October 17, so you’ll have plenty of time to reconnect with generations of Patriots and Seawolves before you walk down memory lane and join us at the Wolfstock Village BBQ to keep the fun going.

Go Back to School
Join us on Friday, October 16, for a Homecoming Thought Leadership Series — a chance to dive into the ideas shaping Stony Brook’s future. The day kicks off at 2 pm with the Presidential Panel Discussion: The AI Revolution at Stony Brook, followed by three engaging sessions hosted by the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Business and the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences. It’s the perfect way to learn something new, hear from campus leaders and start your Homecoming weekend with inspiration.

Making New Friends
No matter how many times you’ve been back to Stony Brook for Homecoming, you’re bound to make new friends and connections. Maybe it’s a student who is just starting their college journey. Or a grad student getting ready for the world. Or even the family members of old friends you’ll be meeting for the first time!

Keep an Open Mind
Whether you’re attending for the first time or the 20th, every Homecoming experience is different and exciting. So, come with an open mind to rediscover what it means to be a Seawolf!

Attend an Organization Event
If you were a member of an organization at Stony Brook, consider attending one of their events. Many organizations, from The Statesman to the Black and Latino Alumni Network, as well as different colleges, are hosting fun mixers for you to connect with your fellow alumni and faculty members.

Bring the Whole Family
Homecoming is more than just catching up with old friends. It’s also a time to make new memories with your family and loved ones. From face painting and games to food trucks and music, there will be plenty to choose from for all ages. You’ll want to do it all — and come back next year!
