November 18-22, 2024
At Stony Brook University, we share an unrelenting drive to create pivotal change for our students, local communities and the future of the planet. From research that reaches real people to measurable climate progress, we set our sights on the future.
On November 18, Stony Brook alumni and friends will come together for one week to “Fuel the Momentum: Five Days, Five Ways to Give.” This inaugural week of giving will continue to unlock powerful opportunities for our students, researchers and faculty members as well as future generations. For five days, gifts will be made to benefit students, faculty, academic programs and initiatives across the Stony Brook footprint.
Throughout the week, the Stony Brook community, including alumni and friends, will have the opportunity to support areas of shared values that build on Stony Brook’s excellence.
Measurable Climate Progress
With urgent environmental challenges on the rise, from extreme weather to pollution and ecological issues, our efforts are more critical than ever.
Research That Reaches Real People
Support not only allows us to make meaningful strides in research to address our community’s most urgent needs, but it also provides our students and faculty with new world-class labs to speed and scale our breakthroughs.
Pivotal Student Experience
A student’s experience goes beyond the classroom. Through programs such as EOP/AIM, Student Affairs, Study Abroad, the Career Center and the Women’s Leadership Council, students have the opportunity to accomplish more at Stony Brook and beyond.
Healthier Communities Near and Far
Support at Stony Brook Medicine enables our researchers to work on lifesaving discoveries and clinical trials that allow our providers to deliver the most exceptional care to communities near and far.
Arts and Enrichment for All
By supporting the arts at Stony Brook, the community can empower our commitment to diversifying the arts, elevating our humanities-based projects.

“Stony Brook alumni and friends are making an impact across our entire footprint,” said Scott Barrett, interim vice president for advancement. “Through their generosity and support, we are transforming students into leaders and ideas into action. I look forward to seeing the community continue to fuel that momentum and make an even deeper impact.”
Each day will feature specific matching challenges, which provides an opportunity to increase support for the specific priority areas.
You have the opportunity to triple your impact. Endowment gifts of $100,000 or more are eligible for both the New York State Endowment Match program and the Simons Infinity Investment Match Challenge — meaning one donation has the potential to make three times the difference.
