Looking for your next job opportunity?
Whether you’re a recent, soon-to-be graduate or displaced worker, Stony Brook University recognizes the difficulty of navigating the job market impacted by the pandemic.
In the face of these challenges, the Stony Brook University Career Center, Alumni Relations, and Community Relations Offices are co-sponsoring a free two-day workshop series to uplift members of our community. Host and Senior Career Coach Marie Parziale welcome all alumni and their families and friends to attend. This initiative will help you better understand and learn how to get through an applicant tracking system, network effectively to increase your chances of landing a job you want, and identify the next step in your job search.
Session One: Thursday, June 24, 2021, from 7 pm to 8 pm
Resume/Cover Letter Review and the Value of Assessments
Gain access to resume and cover letter resources to help you score that interview. Struggle with interviewing? Learn about the value of self-assessments in allowing you to highlight your skills authentically or discover positions that better match your qualifications.
Session Two: Friday, June 25, 2021, from 1 pm to 2 pm
Managing Your Job Search
Learn how to use LinkedIn to network and share your personal brand and stand out during networking conversations. With companies growing increasingly reliant on technology, optimizing your job search by displaying a positive online presence is more crucial than ever.
Just as important is the opportunity to connect with highly motivated, like-minded members of your community. Through these discussion-based workshops, the co-sponsors seek to create a space for alumni and friends and members of the local community to gain insights from one another while improving your job prospects.
Register for one or both workshops using this link. We will send you a Zoom invitation ahead of the event.
