Alumni and friends are invited to light up the holidays at the annual Lighting of the Windmill celebration at Stony Brook Southampton.
Friday, December 2, 2016
5 pm to 7 pm, Chancellors Hall
Stony Brook Southampton
New this year is the “Ice Melodies” showcase, where guests can watch an expert carver make a windmill out of ice and listen to carolers sing holiday favorites.
Back by popular demand are family-friends activities like balloon twisting, hot cocoa and holiday treats, a photo booth, and guided tours of the Windmill.
A special staff lecture with Chris Paparo of the School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences — “From Plankton to Whales: Just a few Reasons Why Our Local Waters Are Worth Protecting” — will follow.
RSVP to Laura.Lyons@stonybrook.edu. (Admission is free and all are welcome.)
