NBC’s Today show took notice when iron workers painted “get well” messages on steel beams to cheer up the kids at Stony Brook Children’s.
The workers are involved in constructing a new children’s facility adjacent to the existing building. Their messages were visible to children getting well at Stony Brook.
According to Today, the first message was written by a worker whose child was a patient at the hospital, and who then responded by writing a “thank you” note and putting it in her window.
“It’s remarkably touching,” Dr. Kenneth Kaushansky, dean of Stony Brook University School of Medicine, told Today.com.
