Construction Workers Send Kids a “Get Well” Message

todayNBC’s Today show took notice when iron workers painted “get well” messages on steel beams to cheer up the kids at Stony Brook Children’s.

The workers are involved in constructing a new children’s facility adjacent to the existing building. Their messages were visible to children getting well at Stony Brook.

According to Today, the first message was written by a worker whose child was a patient at the hospital, and who then responded by writing a “thank you” note and putting it in her window.

“It’s remarkably touching,” Dr. Kenneth Kaushansky, dean of Stony Brook University School of Medicine, told Today.com.
