Stony Brook University alumna Colette Geary, PhD ’87, ’89 was recently inaugurated as the 12th president of The College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota.
“We are joyful in the work that lies open to us today, because we are filled with hope for its promise for tomorrow,” Geary said during her inaugural address. “It is a great privilege for me to join with this community as we build upon our remarkable history, and write the next chapter of the story of The College of St. Scholastica.”
Prior to being named president of St. Scholastica, Geary served as Senior Vice President for Strategic Initiatives at The College of New Rochelle after serving as the school’s Vice President for Student Services.
She spent 14 years as the Dean of Students at Manhattan College, while maintaining a faculty position in the School of Education. Prior to her time at Manhattan College, Geary was in private practice as a clinical psychologist and served on the staff at the Department of Veterans Affairs hospital in Montrose, New York.
