Career Center Celebrates Partnerships with Awards Ceremony

The Stony Brook University Career Center hosted its annual Partnership Celebration on May 10 to honor the incredible partners from on and off campus who support the mission to prepare, educate and connect Stony Brook students and alumni with career opportunities and networks. This event was the first in-person celebration since 2019, and more than 200 employers, faculty and staff, alumni, and student group partners networked, and shared memories of collaboration and accomplishments over the past year.

The Career Center also hosted a pre-event to celebrate the opening of their newly renovated space on the garden level of the Melville Library, rebranded as The Career Studio. This sleek space now better accommodates the career development needs of students and includes collaborative areas for job search preparation, networking with employers, and career conversations between coaches, students, and alumni.

“This is a space designed for action, that’s why we are calling it a ‘studio,’ so students can expect to be actively engaged in making their futures happen, with the help of our professional and paraprofessional staff,” said Associate Vice President for Career Readiness and Experiential Education Marianna Savoca.

The Career Studio also includes conference spaces to accommodate meetings with internal and external stakeholders as well as five state-of-the-art interview rooms equipped with virtual interviewing technology for companies and students to reserve.

Nearly 30 awards were presented to a variety of individual and group partners.
